Eldorado Hotel & Spa in New Mexico
Santa Fe, New Mexico is one of my favorite destinations. So it was no surprise that my husband and I chose to make it the destination for our babymoon last spring. To me romance is in the air in Santa Fe. I loved our walks downtown and our mini coffee breaks (decaf for me) at the local quaint cafes.
Staying at the Eldorado hotel downtown was amazing. The room was spacious yet cozy and romantic. Having brunch at the lobby was a dream come true. The authentic Santa Fe decor was only eclipsed by the selection of delicious food. No wonder the place is known for the best brunch in Santa Fe.
In the evening, I would have loved to sip on a virgin Margarita on the terrace of La Fonda hotel but it was closed. Nevertheless, we had a wonderful dinner at La Plazuela, the hotels beautifully decorated courtyard restaurant. Order the guacamole! It is freshly prepared right at your table. If you are not ready to call it a night yet, go to the Cantina at La Casa Cena. Your server will not only bring you the best creme brule you have ever had but will also join the others singing Route 66 and other popular favorites.
Another wonderful breakfast place is the Chocolate Maven Bakery. It is a little bit off the beaten path but totally worth it. You will be sitting in an actual bakery and watch all of their savory sweets being made. The Mexican hot chocolate is a must!
